Apartment Review for Olympic Village Apartments - Norfolk, VA

I moved into Olympic Village Apartments in January 2005.. . Minor repairs and Maintence were expected, but the problem came when the scratching started. It was initially heard in the kitchen behind the stove. Called to the rental office and spoke with Myra and told her that I think its a mouse in my apartment,well she said, to me laughing oh everyone around you are having this problem, but what I could do is come into the rental office and get some glue traps. Of course that didnt help the problem. So weeks went by, than one morning around 5:30 am a mouse ran from my bedroom to the kitchen underneath the stove. Once again I called to the rental office and reported the problem to Myra informing her that the glue traps did not work and could something else be done, and I also stated that that this was a unfit living conditions. Well,maintenance claimed to lay poison traps to kill the mouse that didnt help. The scratching then went from the kitchen to the bedroom wall to behind the washer and dryer. I again reported the problem and were assured that the problem would be handled. Well, you guess right problem was never handled. So I had to get my fianc? to come and stay with me so that he could help me kill the mouse. So we went out and brought poison and mouse traps. One day we came home and the mouse was in the corner of the kitchen about dead fianc? killed it with the broom. So at this time we are thinking that this was the only mouse. NO! NO! NO! We had two more that we didnt know about until they ate the poison and were about dead(had to kill those to as well) in two separate places at two different times. So at this point I had enough dealing with the bugs (water bugs, and roaches and the mice). Not only the rodents were a problem but the noise was also a problem as well. It was a little bit to much for what I was paying.So I end up moving, it was a hassle but I had to go I rate this apartment very unfit condition and environment to live in. Dont recommend signing another lease here.
