Apartment Review for Abbey At South Riding - Norfolk, VA

I lived at The Abbey for about 5 years - while the rent was low for the DC area...you also get what you pay for. Front office staff is swamped and extremely slow to respond. Maintenance generally takes days to respond to things...and often they won't fix it on the first, second, or even third visit.

Tons of kids hang out in the parking lot playing at all hours of the day. They dinged my car on a couple of occasions.

The complex was fined for not fixing the emergency fire alarm system for several days. A dead body was found in the dumpster (to be fair - this had nothing to do with the area or the complex - just a psycho dumping a body randomly). Rodents were a problem (though I never had a problem with roaches).

The area is really nice and the rent is cheap (for the area) but now that I live in a great apartment, I can't believe I stayed there for that long!
