Apartment Review for Alexander At Ghent - Norfolk, VA

The appearance of this apartment building is very deceiving. It looks very nice on the outside, but it was built very cheaply and that ruins the experience. The worst problem is the lack of insulation between apartments. There is not concrete between the floors, so noise travels up and down all the time. You will hear your neighbors opening and shutting their kitchen cabinets-so if they have a party, you're in for a rough night. The management knows about these problems but cannot do anything to fix them, so they treat you like crap when you complain. The common hallways are often filled with the smell of cigarette smoke and beer bottles left out from the weekend. We saw several piles of dog poop in the interior hallways during our stay there. The pool is nice and the parking is convenient, but they do not make up for the other negatives. For the price you pay here, you could find a nicer, better built apartment in Ghent.
