Apartment Review for Arbor Pointe - Norfolk, VA

I no longer live in Arbor Pointe but let me tell you of my experience. Aside from all the noise, the roaches, the lack of security and all the other issues mentioned here on this site. I decided not to renew my lease. After giving them 30 days notice. I moved out and left a forwarding address. Expecting to receive my $700 deposit in the mail instead I received a letter stating I owed them over $300. The were claiming I damaged the apartment. The items that they listed as "damaged" were items that were broken when I moved in and I noted this on the initial "walk through" form that I completed on the first day of me living there. They were counting on my not having that form but to their surprise I did. Well they fake me out! They sent a summons to appear in court because in addition to keeping my $700 they wanted an additional $300 for a total of $1000. Well it angers me to say they had their day in court and won their case. Why?? You might ask. Because I failed to appear. Why?? you might ask. Because they had the summons mailed to my old address in Arbor Point, not my forwarding address which they had mailed the bill for $300. Because I was not in court (I knew nothing about a court date) The judge gave them a judgement. This went on my credit and they put a lien on my bank account. and finally I was forced to fork out over $1000 to a broken down roach motel.
