Apartment Review for Dockside - Norfolk, VA

First, I am not about bashing where I have lived for the past 2 years. But I feel that I would have wanted an honest and direct review before I moved in here. The location is wonderful, right next to the river and lots of green, but that is where it ends for nice things to say about my experience here. The rent seems reasonable until you have been here more than a minute. There are items that after 2 years have still not been fixed from my moving in sheet. I actually love the handy man guy that is here, he's sweet and helpful, but since you have to go thru the office to get him in your home, best just get used to friendly conversation with him in passing. The parking is a nightmare, (i.e. I have had friends and family get towed a total of 11 times in the 2 years I have been here at a whopping $105 a pop, in addition my OWN car with parking decal was towed TWICE). The appliances and overall condition of the place is xtremely dated, and there is NO energy efficency living here. Electric bills have run me on average 115 a month (150 + in the summer) This was for a 2 bedroom apartement. A point more valid and scary is the neighborhood kids. My boys were bullied CONSTANTLY living here, to the point they were not allowed to play outside as well as HORRIBLE schools. Please keep looking for somewhere to live if you have kids or like to take pride in where you live.
