Apartment Review for Fenner Garden Apartments (Thom Dozier Realtors) - Norfolk, VA

This apartment was an okay place to start. The size of the one bedroom is certainly not for more than one person. My husband and I moved in together before we got married and this was the place we moved to. The space was fine until we started to actually get furniture (we didn't have anything but an airbed and bean bag chair when we moved in). A couch does not fit comfortable, or a queen-sized bedroom set. I loved the office staff. I just recently moved out and wish I could take them with me! Maintenance came to my apartment immediately after I turned in my move-in checklist to fix the stuff I had written down. They fixed everything I had written down. The lady in the office, Kim, was always friendly except for the one time I payed my rent late. I learned my lesson! I did have neighbors that were VERY noisy and if I had my windows open I could hear anything goin on outside... good if you're a nosey neighbor! I had a neighbor that was very dirty so the bug problem in my apartment was rediculous. I shared with the office about it once and she said she was talking to him about it though, I don't think anything ever was resolved. Pest Control came out once a month and Kim was with him every time. I did bomb my apartment on my own when I was getting cock roaches and other sorts in my apartment... it was nasty and I was just afraid to call maintenance (my first place and I didn't really know what to do). Also, the laundry facility, the one time I went, was horrible. But again, I never complained about it... just went to the laundrymat up the street less than 1mile, I think. Overall, for someone starting out... this place is okay. There is a gun shop directly in front of the apartment complex, my husband always feels it necessary to share that with people. I don't ever recall hearing gunshots in the area though. There were always domestic disturbances though... so police cars were ALWAYS in a parking lot at Fenner Garden. Overall, my experience was okay... I just really needed more space!!
