Apartment Review for Judy Boone Realty - Norfolk, VA

I needed an affordable, clean, safe place to live so I rented this apartment and that is what I was getting. BEFORE JB Realty took over management the property was well maintained, well lit, and over all pretty safe. AS SOON AS JB Realty took over the place started going to crap. Simple things such as grounds up keep and out door lighting (for saftey reasons) were completely stopped! Other reviews about the maintenance man was accurate. The top step on front staircase (wooden) broke off and it took them at least 4 days!!! to come and fix it. Everyone on the top floor had to jump down over the hole in the stairs to continue to the ground floor, which got even better at night since they still have not replaced the out door lighting (TO THIS DAY!!). All the up keep that was done on the apt was done under the previous property manager. JB Realty has done NOTHING to maintain the property. The apt itself was fine. I had no problem with roaches or anything like that but my neighbours did and JB Realty didn't do much to remedy their problem, every now and then they would send someone to spray but that was all. JB realty doesn't provide maintenance or upkeep at all on their properties so if you don't mind cleaning up after the whole apt building or the smell of rotting garbage when you enter the property until you close your front door, please move right on in. I also agree with the very poor customer service at the rental office. They don't care and don't mind showing you that they don't. I would only recommend this apartment IF YOU ARE REALLY IN DESPERATE NEED of a place to live (until you can find better.....especially without JB Realty).
