Apartment Review for The Oaks - Norfolk, VA

Here are just a few negative comments that are backed up by facts. First and foremost for a corporation to be successful they need to screen their employees to the utmost. What I mean by this simply put is don’t have personnel working there that are non-conducive to a productive work environment. I personally have walked across to the office and on more than one occasion I have seen these leasing agents on the computer on facebook, Plenty of fish, and other public blog sites. This is a place of BUSINESS!!! All that other stuff needs to happen on your own personal time. Second negative aspect of these leasing agents is they are extremely dismissive, judgmental, and unprofessional. You want facts here it is. I and several other tenants have seen the leasing agents receive work orders and verbal complaints about various problems pertaining to their units. Yet nothing gets worked on because they smile and put on a cheerful face in the office when you are in there, and discard your work order when you leave. Then they say maintenance is working on other job orders and will get to you when they can. I currently reside here a year now and had complaints since day one about bugs in my apartment, lack of proper flowing water in my bathroom sink, my oven not working right, my hole in the bathroom door since I moved in and other various deficiencies. I am not paying for any of these due to the fact I took pictures, and annotated it as I moved in and made a copy of that paper prior to me turning it in to them. They are judgmental because they sit here and don’t have any regard for people living here because they get to go home every night. They believe because this is a low income area that this is what people are used to. I personally heard this being said. Well I have news for you. You are a leasing agent on minimum wage in the state of VA. You are no better than the person to your left or right. Treat others as you would like to be treated. Another note on the staff that works there is if you are a racist, and display a blatant show of contempt towards a minority group and speak under your breath as we are leaving thinking we can’t hear your racist comments such as "I can’t wait to leave this job and get away from these people and work around working class white people" you are an ignorant bigot that has no reason to work a public relations job that is located in a low income area. Oh finally on professionalism quit coming to work in clothes that look like you've been in the club all night with your breast exposed smelling like alcohol. You are "NOT" that cute! It’s disturbing and disrespectful for possible clients to come in on a Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning smelling alcohol on you looking like a "WHORE". Maintenance is slow. They work with a limited budget, lack of proper guidance, and again leasing agents fail to follow up on work orders. The overall condition is terrible. Lack of upgrades to furnishings, and lack of working current appliances. Let me sum this up by calling out names. Angie was unprofessional. Samantha is next on the list that should not work here or any public relation job. She is the one this is mostly directed to. The best thing that the office had was Anthony, and Mrs. Edwards. The rest of them needs to be fired and bring in new professional people.
